With all the concern of reputation and what everyone thinks of a school, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on Penn State (other than the football team :) University Park of course. Penn St has tremendous school spirit that you will be proud of forever, as long as you don't squander the opportunity once you are there. First, it's important to distinguish between the Penn State, and other campuses administered by Penn State. Also, I think U/Washington is the best West Coast comparable. I've been very fortunate. My Mom made me apply to Penn State. Penn State is a very large university. With Penn State World Campus, I now believe that there is a god of education, lol. I looked at medical school rankings all over the internet and the best I found was that Penn State was ranked N/A from US News. Build the foundation for a successful future as a student in the Penn State Smeal College of Business. Also Penn State is about 30% OOS students which creates a nice mix. Penn State Erie is an above-average public college located in Harborcreek Township, Pennsylvania in the Erie Area. The school does a decent job attracting employers to the school. All of which are substantially higher than the national avg of 40%. I practically live on campus.
,I think its as good or better then any large public school. The Penn State College of Education offers you unique experiences that can be found only here. Also, my upper level biology classes were AMAZING. There is no seperate appliction required, just simply a campus transfer request form.

I'm fairly worried (as an international student) whether the Penn State scandal would have an effect on the reputation of graduates and employment prospects (especially in this market). Offering an array of programs for medical education, physician assistants, graduate students and more, the College offers all the training and experience students need to be successful. Their advice generally boils down to warning people off law schools at all cost - and given the hefty price tag and market....i cant help but wonder if they are right even if i love practicing law and want to be a good lawyer.
